National Disability Insurance Scheme

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new national government scheme that brings a fresh approach to supporting people living with disability, including people with mental health issues and psychosocial disability. It’s a big, bold new program which will begin to roll out across Australia later in 2016.

At its core, NDIS seeks to give people with disability more control over their lives, more choice about the services they receive and more support in making those choices.

If you are a person with disability and you meet the access requirements you may be able to become a participant in the scheme. To get an idea about whether you meet the access requirements, you can use the My Access Checker.

Now is a great time to make sure you understand what the NDIS means for you. Change can be challenging, but knowledge really helps. Take a look at some of these sites for more info:

At cohealth, we will be preparing for the arrival of the NDIS, and keeping you up to date as much as possible. Talk to us about what it might mean for you, and how it might assist you in the future.
