We work with artists from community to deliver arts and health programs. These programs contribute to the long-term outcomes of:
- Increase in wellbeing (physical, emotional and social)
- Community can safely identify and connect with their culture and identity
- Health agency for community.
We developed our Theory of Change, and ways of working in consultation with community. Review these slides for a summary.

Arts Gen will deliver activities that strengthen mental wellbeing. We will also work to prevent all forms of violence. We can support other health promotion projects that support art and health.
Arts Gen’s priorities for 2025-2029 are work that strengthens mental wellbeing and/or prevention of all forms of violence. We also support other health promotion projects to explore art and health.
Arts Gen uses a monitoring and evaluation framework. We work with artists to develop project evaluations. Then we communicate what we want to collect and why. This allows us to improve programs and share learnings with community.
The way we work is important, Arts Gen uses a range of approaches
- Working in decolonised ways
- Co-designed and community led
- Culturally informed
- Accessible
- Identifying influence of Social Determinants of Health
- Creative and Innovative
- Adaptive
- Intersectional
Arts Gen work sits within cohealth Health Promotion Strategy 2025-29, see the Strategy here.
