Free legal service for older clients (age 55+) with legal issues, including

Sometimes older people experience mistreatment and disrespectful behaviour – even by those closest to them, like friends and family. This mistreatment may be financial, emotional, social, physical abuse or neglect. We can speak to older people about these issues.

Some older people decide they want to live with family who will care for them. To do this, they may sell their property or transfer it to their family. We can speak to older people to make sure it works for them.

We can help older people with enduring powers of attorney, guardianship and administration.

We can help older people with repairs and maintenance to their rental property.

We can help older people who have signed documents they didn’t understand or didn’t want to sign. We can also help older people if they have been treated unfairly by a business.

We can help an older person about their rights as a grandparent, including spending time with their grandchildren.

We can help older people where their hoarding behaviour has resulted in a fine.

How to access this service

Any older person (over 55) who uses cohealth call directly or speak to any cohealth staff member who will be able to refer you.

What will it cost me?

There is no cost for this service.
