Community asthma program (CAP)

Asthma education for children (under 18) with asthma or Ventolin responsive wheeze.

Breathe easier with our Community Asthma Program

Give your child the best chance of learning to manage and live with their asthma.

The Community Asthma Program (CAP) provides asthma education and support for children (under 18) with asthma or Ventolin responsive wheeze.

An asthma nurse educator works one on one with families to provide information and help children:

  • understand asthma, its signs and severity
  • identify triggers and learn how to control them
  • use puffers and spacers
  • understand their medications
  • develop a written asthma action plan
  • learn asthma first aid

Home visits from an asthma nurse educator are available for one on one education.

What do I need to do?
