Minister for Health the Hon. Jill Hennessy will today officially open cohealth’s innovative new health centre in Footscray, the heart of Melbourne’s west.
Together with cohealth Board Chair, Kay Rundle and Chief Executive, Lyn Morgain, Minister Hennessy will mark the ten year journey that has culminated in creation of a four floor, purpose built health centre.
The new cohealth health centre, at 78 Paisley Street Footscray, offers a comprehensive range of health and support services that will improve the health and wellbeing of the people in Melbourne’s west.
Services available at the health centre include a 12 chair dental clinic, medical, pathology, and a broad range of health and support services including Refugee Health clinics, podiatry, counselling, physiotherapy, dietetics, and more.
In 2013, recognising need for investment in dental services in the west, significant funding was committed by the State Government toward the purpose built dental clinic within the health centre.
According to cohealth Chief Executive, Lyn Morgain, cohealth is grateful for the government’s investment which, together with investment from cohealth, has enabled the new health centre to be built, continuing a 40 year history of service delivery in the Footscray area.
