fund mental health

The vital mental health support services that cohealth and others deliver in local communities focus on personal recovery. These services are non-clinical and community managed. They are highly accessible and flexible and are best-placed to support people who are recovering from mental illness, enabling them to live at home and participate in community life.

These services, currently a key part of the mental health system, are relied upon by many people who experience mental illness.

As Victoria transitions to the NDIS, funding for these non-clinical, community managed mental health support services stops. Soon this vital support will not be available.

We’re calling for significant government investment to address this healthcare gap and secure support services that are accessible and flexible, and enable people to live at home and participate in community life.
