hooray for Youth Residential Rehabilitation!
In January 2025, we celebrated 25 years of our Youth Residential Recovery (YRR) program.

Since opening in 2000, YRR (formerly known as the Rocket Program) has provided a safe and supportive space for more than 900 young people across our St Albans, Essendon, and Reservoir sites.
YRR provides a residence where young people can be themselves and work on their recovery goals in a supported, inclusive environment. They live on the sites for 12 months before being supported to move into their next home.
The program has supported young people in engaging with mental health services, building confidence, and developing independent living skills.
Every person who has been involved in YRR over the last 25 years has played a vital role in creating a space for connection, empowerment, and support.
Past and present residents and staff gathered in St Albans to commemorate the quarter-century milestone.
Former resident Makayla told the gathered attendees she felt at home the moment she arrived at YRR.

“I knew that this would be the place for me. From the moment I moved in it was as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I could finally stand tall again”
Makayla also shared the impact the program has had on her life.
“The people I’ve met in my time here, staff and residents alike, have been some of the most welcoming and kind-hearted people I have ever had the privilege of meeting,” she said. “Rocket or cohealth, however you know it, have provided a space to grow and thrive in”.
