Temporary service changes at Triabunna Medical Centre

What does this mean for the Triabunna community?

We are sad to say goodbye to Dr Aba Ayati, who is finishing up at cohealth Triabunna in October.

To ensure we can continue providing safe, high-quality care for our existing patients, cohealth Triabunna is temporarily not accepting new GP patients.

For our existing patients: Your GP care will continue as usual, though non-urgent appointments may take longer. We encourage you to be proactive with your healthcare and try not to leave new script requests until the last minute, so we best support you.

For members of the public who are not yet patients of the practice who are in need of care, please consider other GPs, telehealth services, or after-hours care.

This is a temporary measure to keep our community healthy. We’ll let you know as soon as we can welcome new patients again.

What are we doing the improve the situation?

We are doing our best to recruit more GPs to support our community. We are also continuing to advocate with the State government (Department of Health) for additional resourcing for the Triabunna clinic to assist cohealth respond to increased need to health and social care services in Triabunna/Orford region.

What can the community do to help improve the situation?

• If you are new to the region, continue to access care with your usual care provider, request telehealth if this meets your needs.

• Speak with local MPs and request additional resourcing for cohealth
