Shiva belongs to the Iranian community of Melbourne.
She has a Bachelor of Education and experience working in alcohol and other drugs, early childhood, education, mental health, settlement and community development/engagement.
Shiva is actively involved in women’s group and parenting groups, and is proud that there are many different arts, sports, and religion classes for Iranians in Melbourne. Her community members help and empower each other in many different ways.
Shiva enjoys assisting people, especially those from other backgrounds. She loves speaking her community members’ language and sharing common experiences.
For Shiva, the bicultural role is about being dynamic in her society. It matches her passion and personality.
Outside of work, Shiva enjoys studying counselling, parenting solutions and reading novels.
