The City Street Health team provides immediate support in the CBD but can also link people in with meaningful activities and other services and supports such as accommodation and drug treatment services.

Service details

The cohealth City Street Health team is made up of:

  • community nurses
  • peer workers with lived experience of homelessness and substance use
  • case managers
  • alcohol and other drug harm reduction workers
  • dual diagnosis clinicians
  • recreation and inclusion workers
  • Addiction medicine specialist registrar 
  • Aboriginal health worker 

The team walk the streets and lanes of Melbourne’s CBD, where they chat to people and support them if help is needed by providing links to health and social services and programs.

The City Street Health team operates 7 days a week from 9am – 10pm (weekdays) and 10am – 6pm (weekends).

Fees & eligibility

People in the CBD who are experiencing harm related to drugs and alcohol, including those who are homeless or have severe mental ill health.

People who are concerned about someone else having a tough time in the CBD due to drugs and alcohol or other problems can also contact the team.

This is a free service.
