Appointment types
We offer both in person and telehealth appointments. Please note that a patient will not be able to access care from a GP via telehealth if they have not physically seen their regular GP or another medical or health professional at the same practice within the last 12 months.
All doctors are available for 15-minute appointments. If you are likely to require more time, please let us know at the time of booking to book a longer appointment. For your convenience, we will ring or send you an SMS message to remind you of your appointment
Emergency and walk in appointments: Our practices operate on an appointment-based system only. In the case of an emergency, the nurse will see you if necessary.
Interpreters: Telephone and on-site interpreters can be arranged in any language at no cost to you.
Cancellations: A fee of $15 will be charged if you do not attend your appointment without giving our staff at least 24 hours’ notice.
Emergencies: A seriously-ill patient or someone who arrives with an injury will been given priority access to a doctor over other patients.
Repeat Prescriptions: If you need to refill your medication prescription, please ask reception to organise this at least three days before you are due to run out.
MyMedicare at cohealth
MyMedicare is a free and optional new program that offers extra benefits to Australians with a Medicare card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Card.
If you’ve had face-to-face sessions with your usual GP at cohealth at least twice in the last two years, you can register for MyMedicare and nominate them as your preferred doctor. Learn more about MyMedicare.
After Hours Care
DoctorDoctor provides access to on-call home visiting doctors and after-hours health care to residents of metropolitan Melbourne
Telephone: 13 26 60
We encourage clients to discuss home visit options with their doctor. They can be arranged at the doctor’s discretion.
Communication policy
Doctors in cohealth practices may be contacted during normal practice hours. A message will be taken and our client services officers will tell you when it is likely that the doctor will return your call. Your call will always be put through to the doctor or nurse in an emergency, and the calls will be screened by the client services officer who may ask you some questions.
Due to privacy concerns we do not communicate via email, please contact the clinic via phone for any queries.
