Socially isolated people, including the elderly, people with dementia or disabilities can connect with people in the community, make new friends and pursue hobbies and interests.

Service details

Essendon Adult Day Care runs a range of activities regularly to increase the physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of our clients like:

  • Crafting (knitting, friendship tree, etc)
  • Cooking classes
  • Singing groups
  • Community garden
  • Watch movies
  • Play board games
  • Pampering sessions
  • Going for drives
  • Lunch outings
  • Carer’s outings

We develop a calendar of activities each month based on what’s happening in the wider community and include activities our clients request as appropriate.

Morning tea and a seasonal 3 course lunch are provided each day as is transport to/from the centre for those who need it.

We also work with carers and case managers to offer assessment and referral to cohealth services where applicable.

Transport options are available for those living within the Moonee Valley area. People living outside the Moonee Valley area are still welcome to attend.

Fees & eligibility

For people over the age of 65, a referral via My Aged Care is required.

For people under 65 a referral is requested via your GP or Case Manager, or you contact us directly for more information

A place is then offered for the most appropriate day.

Activities run from Monday – Thursday.

Activities take place at 132 Keilor Road, Essendon North VIC 3040.

What will it cost me?
Clients who do not receive a Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) package pay $23.00 per day.

Clients on a Level 3 or 4 CHSP package will have a daily cost of $112.50 charged to their package provider.
