A social program for older adults to undertake a range of activities

Essendon Adult Day Centre is for socially isolated people, including the elderly, people with dementia or disabilities. It helps people to connect with others in the community, make new friends and pursue hobbies and interests.

Service details

Essendon Adult Day Centre runs a range of activities regularly to increase the physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing of our clients. We develop a calendar of activities each month based on what’s happening in the wider. Morning tea and lunch are provided each day.

Other supports

We also work with carers and case managers to offer assessment and referral to cohealth services where applicable.

Transport options are available to and from the centre for those living within the Moonee Valley Local Government Area. People living outside the Moonee Valley area are still welcome to attend.

Fees & eligibility

Socially isolated people (including the elderly, people with dementia and people with a disability.

People over the age of 65, a referral via My Aged Care is required.

People under 65 can contact us directly. A referral from the GP or Case Manager can also be made on your behalf.

The cost depends on if you have any existing support through My Aged Care.

Clients eligible for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) package pay $23.00 per day. Any excursions outside of the centre cost $8 plus the costs of meals/entry on the day.

Clients on Home Care Package will have a daily cost of $130 charged to your package provider. Any excursions outside of the centre – $90 plus the costs of meals/entry on the day charged to your package provider
