The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) aims to empower families to support their child’s learning at an age-appropriate level. An in-home Mentor is engaged to support your family at your home. The program begins when the child is in three-year-old kinder (or child-care) and continues through the child’s first year at school to support a smooth school transition.
The Mentor will meet Parents/Carers regularly to provide the following:
- Support for Parents/Carers to be their children’s first teachers
- Tools to support play and age-appropriate educational activities
- Information regarding training opportunities for Parents/Carers
