Youth residential rehabilitation

Recovery support and accommodation for young people with a mental illness.

Take the time to recover from mental illness and get on with life.

This supported living service is for young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing mental illness (such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia or trauma). You can temporarily live in a private room in a shared house with other young people (for up to 12 months) and receive support and coaching.

Service details

During your stay you can discover your strengths and learn or re-learn the skills and confidence you need for independent living. You can get support for managing your mental illness and achieve your recovery goals like:

  • building better relationships and social connections
  • getting involved in sport and recreation
  • overcoming alcohol and drug issues
  • exploring education, training and work options
  • finding safe and secure housing

We also develop a range of support groups as required like:

  • Young person’s hearing voices
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Mindfulness
  • Fitness and exercise
  • Cooking and nutrition
  • Music and art
  • Work readiness

Youth Advisory Committee

This service and the support offered is co-designed through the work of our Cohealth Youth Advisory Committee. You will be invited to be a part of the Youth Advisory Committee during your stay. This helps make sure the service includes feedback and suggestions from young people.

Arrange a tour

Young adults and teenagers can call us directly to arrange a visit to learn more about our program. Contact the location you are interested in to arrange a tour of our supported accommodation. External supports and carers are welcome to make contact and support young people with their tour.

Fees & eligibility

Young people aged 16-25 who experience mental illness (such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia or trauma).

To use this service, you need a referral from an intake and assessment service. They are a separate organisation who you speak to over the phone to find out if this service is suitable for you.

Call the in-take service for the location you are interested in to get a referral.

A fortnightly service fee of $80 is charged to cover utilities, wi-fi access and some living expenses and group costs.

If you have no income, this service is free. If you have a very low income, the fee is reduced.
