cohealth’s ongoing commitment to the provision of quality community health services has been given a significant boost this week with the commencement of tendering for a new four storey purpose-built facility at 78 Paisley Street Footscray.
cohealth has received Town Planning approval to proceed with development of the fully integrated health centre that will provide contemporary facilities and secure the provision of dental services for the community. When completed, the facility will improve health outcomes in the west and it is a major infrastructure project for cohealth.
The project milestone was confirmed by an announcement at the site yesterday by the Victorian Government Minister for Health, David Davis. In addition to cohealth’s contribution, the Victorian Government has provided $9.7 million to the project.
cohealth Chief Executive Lyn Morgain is thrilled with this latest development. ‘This is an exciting milestone in the project and most importantly a great outcome for the community that brings us one step closer to delivering higher quality health care to the more than 10,000 adults and children who access the service each year. It is also a great reflection of what communities can do when they come together and campaign to
secure services to meet their needs,’ Ms Morgain said.
cohealth is a leading provider of community health services at more than 30 sites across Melbourne’s western, northern and inner suburbs. cohealth was formed in May this year through the merger of Doutta Galla Community Health, North Yarra Community Health and Western Region Health Centre.
