cohealth’s vision is for healthy communities and healthy people. We do this by providing care for all.
As well as improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve, we also address inequality in society. We champion human rights and strive for health and social equity.
Healthy communities, healthy people
Improve health and wellbeing for all and tackle inequality, in partnership with people and the communities they live in.
We care about the whole person and place people at the centre of everything we do.
We are curious and inquisitive and think outside of the box; research and evidence underpin our work.
We treat people with dignity and respect.
We are focused on doing our best, trying new things and speaking up for what is right, without fear or favour.
We are committed to fairness and equality, making sure rights are foremost in our thoughts and actions, and making sure no one is left behind.
We trust each other – our knowledge, skills, experiences and motivations.
We approach all of our work with these key principles:
We are committed to providing responsive services that respect he human rights of all people, celebrates their diversity, enables their access, and promotes their participation in all aspects of their health and wellbeing.
We integrate human rights norms and principles in the design, delivery and evaluation of our services, programs and advocacy.
We work at ensuring our workplace and services are inclusive, where people of all cultural backgrounds, sexualities, gender identities, faiths, languages, abilities and ages are respected and welcomed.
Our trauma-informed approach is guided by the ‘Four R’s’: Realisation about trauma and how it can affect people and groups, recognising the signs of trauma, having a system which can respond to trauma, and resisting re-traumatisation.
cohealth is a not-for-profit community health organisation. We provide essential health and support services in Melbourne’s CBD, and northern and western suburbs.
