health 2040: a discussion paper on the future of healthcare in victoria

cohealth’s response to Health 2040: A Discussion paper on the future of healthcare in Victoria (“Health 2040”) made a series of recommendations. These included:
• adopting a person centre view of healthcare to improve an individual’s engagement in decision about their health and wellbeing;
• developing strategies to improve the interface between the acute and primary health care sector by incentivising collaborative or partnership models
• mental health services that respond to the episodic nature of mental illness; and
• policy responses and interventions that address chronic and complex health in ways that are sensitive to the needs of the most disadvantages populations.
