The Steps to Confident Parenting Program (STEPS) can help you if you may have an intellectual disability and need some support in your family life 

Service details

We can work with you in your home to: 

  • help you take care of your child’s health, safety, and wellbeing
  • link you to other family support services and parenting help 
  • support you in understanding and accessing the NDIS 
  • access an 8-week Home Visit program (for parents of children aged 0 – 3) 
  • access an 8-week Parent Coaching program (for parents of children over 3 years old).  

Fees & eligibility

STEPS is a program for families with at least one parent who has, or is suspected to have, an intellectual disability, who: 

  • live in Melbourne’s western suburbs 
  • have at least one child aged between 0 and 17 years old 
  • are already linked in with The Orange Door.
