cohealth appoints new chief executive

Released on 12th September 2019

cohealth today announced the appointment of Nicole Bartholomeusz as its new Chief Executive (CE).

Ms Bartholomeusz has been Interim CE following Lyn Morgain’s departure to Oxfam Australia and prior to this, held the Deputy CE role since 2014. Over the past five years Nicole has brought her pragmatic and values-based leadership approach to the oversight of the operations of cohealth, as well as to her role as a strategic partner and thought leader to the Chief Executive.

Nicole said it was a privilege to be appointed as cohealth’s new CE.

“I look forward to ensuring that cohealth remains a vibrant, agile and responsive organisation serving communities with the best quality care and experience.”

The national search saw a high calibre of outstanding candidates, and it was Ms Bartholomeusz’s strong, visionary experience in leading complex organisations and commitment to cohealth’s mission that made her the best fit for the role.

cohealth’s Board Chair Kerry Thompson said that Nicole brings a wealth of experience in leading change in complex organisations in a sustainable and impactful way and building strategic partnerships.

“Over the past 18 months, Nicole has provided a strategic voice that’s made a significant contribution to the formation and implementation of cohealth’s ambitious Strategic Plan 2019-2023.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Nicole to this role,” Ms Thompson said.  “She is deeply committed to cohealth and reducing health inequality in partnership with people and communities in which they live.”

Prior to working with cohealth and Western Region Health Centre, Ms Bartholomeusz led large-scale health transformation programs and was instrumental in managing the merger of three community health organisations.

The Board is thrilled to be working with Nicole on the delivery of cohealth’s strategic priorities, along with publicly campaigning for health and social equity.
