MyMedicare provides a greater focus on preventing illnesses and diseases, and more funding to support a team of health professionals to meet your healthcare needs.
MyMedicare is a free (no cost), extra health incentive so you can stay active and healthier for longer. It is not Medicare, and your current Medicare will not be affected.
Why register for MyMedicare?
If you register for MyMedicare, you will be able to access some benefits that are being rolled out to people with Medicare cards over the next few years.
More immediately, if you register with cohealth, we can help you with extra services for no extra money. For example:
- Care and early treatment because we’ll know your health history.
- Chronic disease management plans*.
- Longer doctor telephone consultations – if you find it hard getting to face-to-face appointments.
If you don’t see the benefits for you right now, more benefits will come from November 2024, and we can help you register so you’ll be ready to get them.
*a ‘chronic disease management plan’ shows what health and care you need, outlines the services your doctor will offer, and lists things you can do to manage your condition.

Supporting your health and the health of communities who need us
When you join MyMedicare and choose the cohealth centre you normally go to, the centre will receive an extra payment every time you have an appointment with them.
These ‘extra’ funds will go straight back to cohealth so we can continue supporting your health and the health of the communities who need us the most. This might look like:
- better care, like less steps in your health care journey
- more people to care for you
- improved equipment and environments.
How to register
You can register for MyMedicare:
- in person by visiting your preferred cohealth centre (our reception staff can help you)
- online through your Medicare Online Account or the Express Plus Medicare mobile application.
cohealth offers high quality, free or low cost medical services with highly skilled and experienced doctors. More information about our doctor (GP) services.
Most people benefit by having a regular doctor. They get to know you better and build a relationship. It helps us plan your health care and services better.
