Dr Benny Monheit

Benny is an experienced Addiction Medicine specialist with an interest in mental health and drug and alcohol management. He has worked in the UK and at drug and alcohol centres across Victoria. He has been a drug and alcohol consultant at the Alfred Hospital for the past 21 years.

Benny is a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the  Royal Australasian College of Physicians, as well as a consultant for Victoria’s Drug and Alcohol Clinical Advisory Service. Benny specialises in medications for opioid dependency and alcohol dependency.

Benny enjoys being able to have a positive impact on his clients’ lives. He feels fortunate that they confide in him and many clients work long-term with him on their recovery pathway.

When he’s not at work, Benny enjoys travelling, both overseas and in Australia. He loves spending time with family and grandkids and also volunteers his time at a number of community service organisations.
