This counselling is for families with children aged 0-16 years old. It focusses on parent child relationships and sibling relationships. Counselling for children and parents aims to develop positive relationships and strengthen family bonds.
Service details
Parents and caregivers can talk to a counsellor about their concerns including:
- child’s development
- behaviour or emotional difficulties
- attachment & relationships
- play
- postnatal depression
- family separation
- impacts of family violence (the perpetrator cannot be included in this counselling)
Our counsellors can help you and your child/ren with:
- family relationships & communication
- parenting skills, strategies and approaches
- supporting a child’s development
- enhance constructive bond between caregivers and children
- developing emotional regulation &/or coping skills
- feeling more confident with parenting
- strengthen bonding through respectful communication
- appropriate discipline strategies
- engaging with your children in an empathic and developmentally appropriate way
The first session is with the parent only. This is an initial assessment to explore family needs. This is followed up by an assessment with the child/children. Then we engage in up to 5-10 counselling sessions.

They are qualified child and family counsellors and family therapists.
